And yep, that opening the Dropzone grid and needing to press ⌘D is normal behavior. It works like this because you can also use this key combo to run Dropzone actions.

Sonoma Yes it works thanks to your excellent instructions, but only after restarting my Mac. Thank you for the screenshot. - you mention ⌃⌥ ⌘D, but it can be any shortcut I choose. Is that correct ? - when I select a file in Finder → ⌃⌥ ⌘D → DZ pops up and contains an icon showing ⌘D→ I have to either click on that icon or press ⌘D for the file to appear in the grid. Is this normal behaviour ? I laboriously checked all shortcuts on my Mac, and even tried the app called Shortcut Detective, to no avail. Could you suggest a way to troubleshoot this ?
